Description

Emptiness is the absence of a substance in a volume of space. Silence is the sound of emptiness. The first form that is given to external objects through intuition is that of space, which is a form of knowledge, but it is a form present in the same manner in human kind: in Kantian terms, a transcendental state. In the majority of cultural traditions of the East, the idea of emptiness is rather synonymous with an infinite wealth of possibilities, of maximum openness and freedom. According to a Hindu teacher, “The state of mental emptiness is the condition of intelligence supremely attenti ve, not distracted by extraneous thoughts“. The vacuum is, therefore, not a simple denial of fullness, but an entity which exists in itself. “Whim of Silence“ represents the transition from silent vacuum to space intuition that inevitably comes from the non-sound to a form of energy that is realized and condenses into matter (the sound Aum). The experience of this
energy is manifested in our hearing as a humming vibrating in and around everything.
